SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Borat impersonator Daniel Horan, 48, hoped to settle a bet he made with golfer Jordan Spieth on Saturday during the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
“I was saying, if you made that putt, I’d jump in the pool, the pond,” said Horan in a phone interview with The Arizona Republic on Sunday. “And then, yeah, he made it. So I kind of, that’s why I’m going back (Sunday).”
“Borat’s revenge,” he joked.
Horan made news Saturday when, while dressed as Borat, he made a scene and spoke to Spieth during a critical putt on the 17th hole.
Horan tried to go under a rope Saturday, and security at that point had seen enough. They grabbed his arm and took him away. As he was being hauled off, fans started chanting “Jordan pay his bail! Jordan pay his bail!”

Scottsdale police said Horan, of Seattle, was ejected from the event and prohibited from returning to this year’s tournament. There was no arrest and no charges were filed.
“The police are cool. … they roughed me up a little bit, like I got bruises, but who cares,” said Horan about his encounter. “They basically tried to arrest me, but not really.”
Horan said he and his buddy, Dale, planned to go back to TPC Scottsdale’s 17th hole to fulfill his promise during the final round, but around 3:15 p.m. local time on Sunday, Horan told The Republic he was not allowed back into the Phoenix Open.
He did, however, confirm that he wears a wig for his costume.
