In May the inaugural PGA Tour University class took their talents from college to the pros. On Tuesday the next class of future stars was announced.
Texas’ Pierceson Coody leads the Class of 2022 Summer Ranking, a list of the top-25 rising seniors in NCAA Div. I men’s golf. The Longhorns lead the way with three players ranked in the top-25: Coody, his twin brother Parker (No. 23) and former world No. 1 amateur Cole Hammer (No. 7).
Defending national-champion Pepperdine has two players ranked, Nos. 12 and 13 Joe Highsmith and Joey Vrzich. Oklahoma State is the only other school with multiple players ranked: No. 5 Eugenio Chacarra and No. 21 Aman Gupta.
The PGA TOUR University Ranking is based on results and level of competition. After the 2022 NCAA Men’s Golf National Championship, the top‐15 players in the Class of 2022 will earn status on the Korn Ferry Tour or a PGA Tour international tour.
