A triple bogey, four birdies and being within three feet of winning a new car has made for an eventful opening round at the BMW Ladies Championship for Lydia Ko.
The Kiwi ace has signed for a one-over 73 as the LPGA Tour returned to the Republic of Korea at the International Busan course on Thursday.
Ko sits in a nine-way tie for 64th, nine shots behind frontrunner Na Rin An who holds the outright lead at eight-under.
Ko’s best tee shot came on the par-three 16th where she was just three feet from winning a brand new BMW in the hole in one competition, but as a consolation, she did tap in for a much-needed birdie.
