1) CONTEST PERIOD: The Skechers Meet Our Elite Contest (the “Contest”) starts Friday, October 4, 2021 at 10:00 AM Eastern Time (ET) and ends Monday, November 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM ET (the “Contest Period”).
2) ELIGIBILITY:TO BE ELIGIBLE TO ENTER, YOU MUST BE A LEGAL RESIDENT OF CANADA, BE BETWEEN 8 AND 18 YEARS OF AGE ON DATE OF ENTRY, AND NOT BE A PROFESSIONAL GOLFER, MEMBER OF A NATIONAL GOLF TEAM, OR MEMBER OF A COLLEGIATE GOLF TEAM. CONTEST IS VALID FOR RESIDENTS OF CANADA, EXCEPT WHERE RESTRICTED BY LAW. The following persons are not eligible to participate in the Contest: (a) officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives of Skechers USA Canada, Inc. 3) HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY, and no entry fee, payment or proof-of-purchase necessary to participate in the Contest. Entrants, who are minors at the time of entry and who submit a video entry, must ensure that, at the beginning or end of their 1-2 minute video submission, their parent or legal guardian states on camera that they consent to their child’s participation in the Contest. The latter statement will not be considered part of the entry, for judging purposes.
Each essay or video submitted must be the entrant’s own original work and must be submitted in either French or English. Video submissions must use a digital camera or smartphone, in landscape mode (i.e., horizontally) and at the highest resolution; not produced by a media outlet. The entrant must have all the rights necessary to submit, post and publish the content of the essay or video, and to grant the license described in section 10 below to Sponsor, and to waive his/her moral rights therein to Sponsor. The essay or video must not contain or reference any names, products or services or any company or entity or any third-party copyrights, trademarks, logos, trade dress or promotion of any brand, product, or service (other than as owned by the entrant), and it must not contain any material that could violate or infringe upon the rights of any person or entity, including without limitation, copyrights, trademarks or rights or privacy or publicity, or that is defamatory, threatening, indecent, obscene or offensive or that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to, any applicable laws or regulations, or which requires a license from any third party.
By providing the name, address, e-mail address and telephone number of your parent or legal guardian, you represent and warrant that you have obtained their permission to enter this Contest, further to their review and acceptance of these Official Rules.
Please be aware that winning essays or videos may be posted, in whole or in part, by Sponsor via Instagram, Twitter and/or Facebook, and that by submitting an entry you agree (and, if you are an eligible minor, you have your parent’s or legal guardian’s permission to agree) to your submission being posted. If any person other than you appears in the video, you must have permission from the person appearing in your video to (1) submit the video and (2) grant to Sponsor the rights listed in Section 10) below.
You must submit your entry during the Contest Period by sending an e-mail, with your essay or video attached as a separate file, to [email protected] with the subject: “Skechers Meet Our Elite Contest Entry”. Limit: Only one (1) entry (either essay or video) allowed per person.
Entries containing any material that is deemed by Sponsor, in its sole discretion, to be lewd, explicit, obscene, indecent or otherwise inappropriate for this Contest shall be disqualified. They must not disparage or cast a negative light on any person, entity, or brand, product or service. Any entries featuring music, video, and/or images whose copyrights are not owned by the entrant or featuring large or excessive non-Sponsor branding/trademarks may be disqualified at Sponsor’s sole discretion.
Any individual who, in the sole discretion of Sponsor, is suspected of submitting more than the allowed number of entries, by any means, including, but not limited to, establishing multiple e-mail accounts, may be disqualified from participation in this Contest. The name of the person submitting the Contest entry must be the authorized account holder of such e-mail address (or the e-mail address must belong to the parent or legal guardian of the entrant if the entrant is a minor at the time of entry), otherwise entry may be deemed void. In the event of a dispute over the identity of a potential winner, the entry will be decided upon by confirming the authorized account holder of the e-mail address which submitted the winning entry at the time of entry, and the potential winner may be required to provide identification sufficient to show that he/she or his/her parent or legal guardian is the authorized account holder. It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to notify the Sponsor in writing if the entrant changes his or her e-mail address or postal address during the Contest Period.
Proof of submission of entry does not constitute proof of delivery of entry. All entries become the sole property of Sponsor. Each entry submission must be manually key stroked and manually entered by the individual entrant; automated and/or repetitive electronic submission of entries (including, but not limited to, entries made using any script, macro, bot or Contest service) will be disqualified and transmissions from these or related e-mail or IP addresses may be blocked.
Entries are subject to the approval of Sponsor and must satisfy all the requirements set out above. Entries that do not satisfy the above requirements will be void and ineligible as an entry into the Contest.
4) PRIZES:
One (1) Grand Prize winner will be selected from all eligible entries to win:
- A virtual (via Zoom or a similar Internet conferencing solution) “meet and greet” and training session with Brooke Henderson (to occur between November 23, 2021 and November 30, 2021, exact date and time subject to Brooke’s and winner’s availability). “Meet and greet” chat will last about fifteen (15) minutes, training session will last about thirty (30) minutes
- Two thousand, five hundred dollars (CAD$2,500) to use towards future golf school/training
- Six (6) months’ worth of Skechers footwear (provided via a single CAD$600 Skechers gift card)
- Total approximate retail value of the Grand Prize: CAD $3,400.
Two (2) First Prize winners will be selected from all eligible entries to each receive:
- Five hundred dollars (CAD$500) to use towards future golf training/school
- Three (3) months’ worth of Skechers footwear (provided via a single CAD$300 Skechers gift card)
- Total approximate retail value of each Second Prize: CAD$800.
Total approximate retail value of all prizes: CAD$5,000.
5) JUDGING CRITERIA AND SELECTION OF WINNERS:: All submissions will be reviewed to ensure that they comply with these Official Rules. Entries which violate the Official Rules will be disqualified from judging. On November 1, 2021 at 11:00AM ET at Mississauga, Ontario, all eligible entries will be initially judged by a panel composed of Sponsor employees based on the following criteria:
- 25% - Drive/Goal (Is the entrant motivated about golf? How goal oriented are they, how well did the entrant express his or her drive to succeed?)
- 25% - Off Course Motivation/Commitment off course (Is the entrant taking the on-course discipline/drive off the course? Did the entrant express his or her goodwill or involvement off the course?)
- 25% - Passion (Were they genuine in their response? Does that passion show through in their answer?)
- 25% - Presentation & Communication/Execution (Did they clearly answer the topic at hand? Did their personality show through?)
After the initial judging, the ten (10) entries with the highest scores will be judged again on the above criteria by Sponsor employees. The top score will win the Grand Prize, and the second and third highest scores will win the First Prizes.
Odds of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received. Entries submitted are only eligible for this Contest. By entering this Contest, all participants agree that all decisions made by the Sponsor regarding matters relating to the judging and selection of Contest winners are final.
6) WINNER NOTIFICATION AND PRIZE FULFILLMENT:The potential winner will be notified via e-mail. Any winner who does not respond to notification attempts within five (5) business days will result in prize forfeiture and an alternate winner may be selected at Sponsor’s discretion. Any winner notification returned as undeliverable without a forwarding address will result in prize forfeiture and an alternate winner may be selected at Sponsor’s discretion.
Grand Prize Winner shall be responsible for any equipment or technology required for the virtual meet and greet and training. Failure to obtain any required equipment or technology within three (3) months of Grand Prize Winner being notified of such requirements may result in forfeiture of the prize. Scheduling of the virtual meet and greet and training will be subject to Brooke Henderson’s and Grand Prize Winner’s schedules. Grand Prize Winner will be expected to act in a polite and appropriate manner during the virtual meet and greet and training. Failure to do so may result in immediate cancellation of the virtual meet and greet, which may or may not be rescheduled, in Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion, and forfeiture of the prize. Grand Prize Winner will not be allowed to record the virtual meet and greet and training. Sponsor will record the virtual meet and greet and training, and such recording (or an edited version of such recording) may be made available to Grand Prize Winner in Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. Grand Prize Winner may not use Brooke Henderson’s likeness without her prior, express, written permission. The virtual meet and greet may be attended by one (1) or more representatives of golf publications. By entering this Content, you consent to the presence of the representatives, as well as the publication of a story regarding the virtual meet and greet (though personal details of winner will not be included without such publication obtaining prior consent from the Winner or Winner’s parent or guardian.

The potential winners may be required to sign and return to Sponsor an Affidavit of Eligibility with (where lawful) a liability and publicity release for receipt by Sponsor. If any required documents are not returned, then prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected at Sponsor’s discretion. Sponsor shall have no liability for any personal injuries, death, property damage, or other damages or expenses resulting from or arising out of any aspect of any Prize Winner’s acceptance or use of any Prize.
7) GENERAL: Except as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, no substitution of prize is available, nor is any transfer of prize to a third party permitted. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a similar prize or prize element of comparable or greater value in its sole discretion. All federal, state or other tax liabilities and fees arising from this Contest are the sole responsibility of the prize winner. Prizes are not redeemable for cash.
8) CONDUCT:By entering this Contest, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor (which shall be final and binding in all respects). Failure to comply with these Official Rules may result in disqualification or forfeiture and/or prize. 9) LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY:Sponsor and Promotion Parties assume no responsibility or liability for (a) any incorrect or inaccurate entry information, or for any faulty, failed, garbled or jumbled electronic data transmissions; (b) any unauthorized access to, or theft, destruction or alteration of entries at any point in the operation of this Contest; (c) any technical malfunction, failure, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, systems, networks, lines, satellites, servers, computers or providers utilized in any aspect of the operation of the Contest or the fulfillment of any Prize; (d) inaccessibility or unavailability of the Internet or any combination thereof; (e) any injury or damage to participant’s or to any other person's computer which may be related to or resulting from any attempt to participate in the Contest, download any materials in the Contest, or receive, use, or access any Prize; (f) any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by a Prize or resulting from acceptance, possession or use or misuse of, or participation in any part of, a Prize, or from participation in the Contest; or (g) any printing, typographical or technical errors in any materials associated with the Contest. 10) ENTRANT AND WINNER RELEASES AND REPRESENTATIONS:All entrants, as a condition of entry into the Contest, agree to release Sponsor and the Promotional Parties, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, officers, directors, employees and representatives, from and against any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons, property or otherwise which may be sustained in connection with the Contest, including without limitation, accessing the Contest page, submitting an entry or otherwise participating in any aspect of the Contest, preparing for, participating in or traveling to and/or from any prize-related activity, or any typographical or other error in these Official Rules or the announcement or offering of any prize.By entering the Contest, each entrant hereby represents that any submissions/posts are his or her own and that he or she owns all copyrights in connection with such submissions/posts and all persons depicted in such submissions/posts have given permission for entrant to submit such submissions/posts and grant the rights and releases granted by entrant herein. 12) RESIDENTS OF QUEBEC: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
13) DISPUTES: THE CONTEST IS GOVERNED BY, AND WILL BE CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH, THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
