How a group of cousins' gamble on joggers paid off — and became Primo Golf

How a group of cousins' gamble on joggers paid off — and became Primo Golf

At the end of 2019, Matthew Gay and his cousins had an idea for designing a new style of golf joggers. They wanted the joggers to be stylish but have full athletic functionality.

Primo Golf Apparel — primo meaning cousin in Spanish — started out with very realistic expectations. The company manufactured 250 pairs of golf joggers in hopes that some would sell. As a fall back, in case the launch wasn’t successful, the company’s plan was to sell the pants on Craigslist to break even.

The company ended up selling out of all 250 pairs within a week and the cousins knew they were onto something.

The joggers are made from 95% polyester and 5% spandex providing a four-way stretch and extreme level of comfort. Primo Golf joggers start at an affordable price point ($89) in comparison to other competitors and come in a wide size selection catering to all heights.

Short sizes are recommended for golfers 5 feet 9 inches and shorter.

Regular sizes are recommended for golfers 5 feet 10 inches and taller.

Tall sizes are recommended for golfers 6 feet 4 inches and taller.

In addition to signature joggers, the group also has golf polos. The Primo Polo offers a bold look with a bladed collar and high level of stretchiness. Their polos are made from 90% polyester and 10% spandex
