The Greatest Show on Grass promises to get back to its wild and crazy roots this year.
If you’ve been, you know it’s part golf tournament, part excuse to day drink. They don’t officially release numbers anymore but it’s not uncommon for attendance to peak north of the 700,00 mark over the course of the week at TPC Scottsdale.
It was a toned-down affair in 2021 due to COVID protocols with limited fan access but it’s back in a big way, including the 16th hole, where the general-admission section near the green was expanded by a few hundred seats.
In fact, there is now one million square feet of hospitality space on the course, with an estimated capacity of 17,000 inside the arena on the par-3 16th.
Year in and year out, tournament organizers look at to add here, tweak there, all in the name of a better fan experience. Here’s a few new things coming this time around.
