The group stage has come to a close in Austin, Texas, at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play.
Unlike last season, many top seeds are heading to the Sweet 16 (Jon Rahm was the lone top seed to advance last March).
Rahm, who ranks No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking, had no problem advancing from group play, escaping his first three matches, 2-1-0. Defending champion Billy Horschel will have a chance to repeat in Austin as he advanced from group 12 with a record of 2-0-1.
Saturday’s morning matches will include a Ryder Cup rematch, a chance for Scottie Scheffler to earn revenge, and a former World No. 1 against a 49-year-old Richard Bland.
The eight winners will advance to the quarterfinals Saturday afternoon. Sunday will be the semifinals as well as the final and the third-place match.
