Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are two of the finest competitors on the golf course. They both worked to be at the top of the world golf rankings, and they're still competing for new records. After long months of interruption following his serious car accident, Tiger Woods made a new "Come Back", on one of his favorite playgrounds: the Masters. Beyond the score, even if the Tiger made us dream with his first round in 71 (-1), Woods played the four rounds of this masters 2022, which we can already consider as a victory.

His limp got worse as the days went by, and his weekend was more difficult with two cards of 78 (+6), but the crowd did not fail to support and cheer for his forever champion. Interviewed earlier in the season, Tiger Woods said his primary goal was to return for The Open, which is being played at St Andrews this year.

Tiger Woods has spoken several times about St Andrews, which he calls his favorite course, a course where he won The Open twice in 2000 and 2005. However, if The Open was his goal, he has made a comeback in major three months before the British Open. What tournaments will Tiger Woods play by then?

Two majors are on the program before July: the PGA Championship in May and the US Open in June.

The question is the same for Phil Mickelson

The American left-hander moved away from golf courses following the various controversies of which he was the center, about Greg Norman's Super Golf League project or his disagreements with the authorities of the PGA Tour. Lefty had posted a message on his social networks explaining that he was moving away from the competition to refocus on himself and his family. He hasn't played in a PGA Tour-sanctioned tournament since January, at the Farmers Insurance Open, where he didn't make the Cut.

However, Mickelson will soon have a title to defend at the PGA Championship. At 51, he became the oldest major winner at the 2021 PGA Championship, two strokes ahead of Louis Oosthuizen and Brooks Koepka. Despite the controversy, he remains one of the darlings of the Americans, his fans still hope that he will be able to complete his grand slam, by winning this famous US Open.

We recall that Phil Mickelson finished 2nd in the American Open six times without ever winning it. As the years pass, the odds dwindle for Lefty, and one cannot imagine that such a champion could miss an opportunity to accomplish this grand slam.

On the US Open roster!

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are said to be well on the roster for the 2022 US Open. The event will be played June 16-19 at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts. We still hope to find these two great champions a month before, during the PGA Championship, where Mickelson will have to defend his title.
