Last year at the 2021 PNC Championship, Tiger Woods played his first competitive golf since his accident in February that nearly took his life.
Since then, Tiger has played golf a handful of times, including three majors this year, but he hasn’t been seen much in the public eye since missing the cut at the 150th Open Championship at St. Andrews in July.
That’ll change in December.
He’s hosting the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas next week and will participate. The next week, he’s in a 12-hole, under-the-lights exhibition teaming with Rory McIlroy against Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth ‘The Match.’
But then, Tiger and son Charlie will take the stage at the 2022 PNC Championship the weekend before Christmas. The pairing was announced Friday, as the event teased fans across social media on Thanksgiving day.

Tiger and Charlie stole the show in 2020 when they debuted, as it was the first time Charlie had been in the public eye in a golf setting. Last year, they combined to finish runner-up behind John Daly and John II.
Now, Tiger and 13-year-old Charlie will be looking to nab the trophy. And they’ll be heavy fan favorites, especially with the improvements in Charlie’s game recently. He shot a career-low back in September with dad on the bag.
