Alexis Noel Thompson (born February 10, 1995) is a professional golfer from the United States who competes on the LPGA Tour. She was the youngest golfer ever to qualify for the US Women's Open at the age of 12. At the age of 15, she made her professional debut in June 2010.[2][3] Thompson set a new record as the youngest-ever winner of an LPGA tournament on September 18, 2011, when she won the Navistar LPGA Classic at the age of 16 years, seven months, and eight days. Three months later, on December 17, 2011, she became the second-youngest winner of a Ladies European Tour tournament, winning the Dubai Ladies Masters by four strokes.

She won her first major tournament in the 2014 Kraft Nabisco tournament at the age of 19 years, 1 month, and 27 days, becoming the second youngest LPGA golfer to do so (she is currently one of the top five youngest LPGA major winners).[5]

Education and family

Thompson's two brothers, Nicholas[6] and Curtis[7], are both professional golfers who have competed on the Korn Ferry Tour and the PGA Tour. She was home-schooled, and in September 2012, she informed an interviewer that she had "graduated a few months ago."
