For the first time since the 2023 Masters, Tiger Woods will play in an official PGA Tour event.
Woods, who last played at the PNC Championship with his son, Charlie, back in December, is in the field for next week’s 2024 Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California, the third signature event of the year.
The 15-time major winner played at Riv last season, making the cut and eventually tying for 45th.
Thanks to its elevated status, the field is absolutely loaded. World No.1 Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay and Max Homa will all join the GOAT in Los Angeles. And unlike other signature events, the Genesis will have a 36-hole cut (top 50 and ties, players within 10 shots of the lead).
The total purse is $20 million with $4 million slated to go to the winner.
Riviera is a par-71 track measuring 7,322 yards.
Reigning champion Jon Rahm is unable to pursue back-to-back titles thanks to his move to LIV Golf.
The field will be finalized after the WM Phoenix Open.
All eligible players but Justin Rose and Matthieu Pavon are committed.
The field will be finalized following the WM Phoenix Open:
