Harris English had made 333 starts on the PGA Tour before this week, but this is how he described playing in the inaugural Black Desert Championship in Ivins, Utah.

“It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen,” he said. “For us out here on Tour, we’re used to seeing landing areas a lot more and being able to see where the fairway starts. So it’s a little different out here when you’re seeing a lot of the black rock everywhere.”

Or as Sam Ryder put it, “This course you just got to keep it between the rocks.”

No one is doing that better than Stephan Jaeger. The veteran pro carded an 8-under 63 at Black Desert Resort to grab a one-stroke lead at 14-under 128 over Adam Svensson when play was suspended due to darkness on Friday at the first PGA Tour event in the Beehive state in more than 60 years.

Here are five more things to know from the second round of the 2024 Black Desert Championship.
